Tomorrow Never Knows 2011 kicks off this week, with shows at Schubas, Lincoln Hall, and Metro. Some year, I’ll be able to do something wacky like go to a show every night. This is not that year. I’ll be at the Marketa Irglova show for my one TNK 2011 stop this year. Should be good.

The beginning half of this week has apparently decided to take a vacation. I’d sure like to do the same, but that’s not going to be happening any time soon. The big attraction this week is the Tomorrow Never Knows festival, hosted at Schubas and Lincoln Hall. There are a lot of great bands performing, […]

How is it December already? I find this incredibly unfair. I’m not okay with this at all. If you’ve missed out on tickets to The xx on Tuesday, don’t go and pay double face value just to get in to the sold out show. Tickets are still available for their show in April 2010 with […]

If I liked math enough, someday, I would sit down and do some sort of analysis to see if I can come up with a pattern for Shows I Want to See, because it seems like there’s always an off week, followed by a week so full of things that it makes my trigger finger […]

A little bit of everything in Chicago this week. Rock, electronica, folk, rap, and my guilty pleasure, cheesy pop music. I kind of can’t handle all of the different choices for shows on Thursday, and I have never been so disappointed to have to go to a Halloween party rather than a show on Friday. […]
