How is it December already? I find this incredibly unfair. I’m not okay with this at all. If you’ve missed out on tickets to The xx on Tuesday, don’t go and pay double face value just to get in to the sold out show. Tickets are still available for their show in April 2010 with […]

The theremin, for the record, is “an early electronic musical instrument controlled without contact from the player”, and basically completely badass. For more about the theremin, check out the Wikipedia article. For more about Randy George, the man playing the theremin on the video, check out his website.

After teasing us with a few featured bands recently, SXSW has released a list of over 200 showcase bands for this year’s festival. It’s a lot of material to go through, and more information is forthcoming. SXSW usually provides additional information and links to free mp3s for their featured bands, so keep an eye out […]

A bit of a late post for this week’s concert run-down. Between preparing a couple of other posts for the site, and doing the job that I actually get paid for, there wasn’t a whole lot of spare time this morning to pull things together. Tuesday is a night of competing artists-who-had-songs-on-popular-television, with Imogen Heap’s […]

AA Bondy and Elvis Perkins made for a perfect lineup, with both of their music fitting into a similar country-rock sort of feel. Â I’m terrible with genres, so there’s probably something better than that, but I don’t know what it is. Â Both of these men make everything sound so easy, with lyrics delivered in a […]
