Tiny little list this week. Feels like lots of bands are taking their summer vacations right now. Don’t worry, there are tons more shows than this that may be to your tastes; this is just what’s going on that’s got my interest.
And if you’re looking for something to do on Saturday night, you can come out to the Elbo Room to catch my band, Jungle of Cities. We go on at 9, and cover is $10.

Sarah, any chance you could throw a little love to the Ultraviolet Petting Zoo? It’s a fund-raising event for the Boys & Girls Club and has a bunch of bands hand-picked by Casey Meehan over at the Chicago Mixtape. This Sunday 7/10 at Paul Revere Park (Western/Irving Park). Bands start at 2pm including: White Mystery, Tom Schraeder and his Ego, Bobby Conn and Monica Boubou (electroset), Baby Teeth, Bailiff, The Record Low, Jonny Rumble, and We Repel Each Other. It’s only a $5 donation, and there’s also food, beer, rides, a petting zoo, and more! More info here!
