Wow, That’s a Good Song: Jeremy Messersmith, “Organ Donor”

By Sarah on January 13, 2011

Who knew that death could be so cheerful? Here’s my favorite track off of Jeremy Messersmith’s The Reluctant Graveyard.  The song is catchy and the animation in the video is — pardon the pun — to die for.

Left my spine in the wedding chapel
Full of people
Feet turning into lead
Lost a leg at the iron foundry
Where they found me dead
Drained my blood at the mortuary
No more worry
Ice water in my veins
Took my bones to the cemetery
Where they still remain

Catch Jeremy Messersmith tonight on a fantastic bill at Schubas, with Marketa Irglova, Sam Amidon, and Bone and Bell.  The Reluctant Graveyard is available on Bandcamp, where you can name your price.  Go give him money!
